Hello Guys, this is my submission for the Artstation character design challenge: Medieval Back and Forth. No AI, No 3D nor photobash, all painted. It's really tough to come up with 8 hybrid designs with unique visual language in such a short period of time, but guess what, I made it, so cheers! I spent about 5 days in total for visual explorations, and for all the characters 1 day for design and line art, 1 day for render, so about 16-17 days in total.
I have had so much fun and learned a lot from designing those characters. I think the biggest progress I made is that I have put everything I have learned so far together. It is also the first time I saved all the processes and visual exploration process, so if one day in the future I decided to teach I would have some materials for my students.
Now I'm gonna chill and relax, take a trip, spent time with my family and friends, and stay away from serious painting for a while. I will do a stream on Twitch in the future to talk about my design process, so join my discord to receive notifications if you have not yet.
You can find more explanations and process for the concept in the challenge page:
